Based on the Jesse Andrews’ 2012 debut of the same title, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is an
upcoming American comedy-drama film from Fox Searchlight Pictures. It premiered
at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival to a standing ovation.
Greg Gaines is an awkward senior high school student in
Pittsburgh. After his mom told him so, he befriends his classmate Rachel
Kushner who is suffering from leukemia. Greg and his best friend Earl make
low-budget films in their spare time, and together, decide to make a film for
Rachel. In the process, they learn the deeper lessons of friendship, love and
life.
Thomas Mann stars as Greg in the film, along with Olivia
Cooke as Rachel and Ronald Cyler II as Earl. Directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl will hit
cinemas on June 12, 2015.
