First Peek: The Hateful Eight (2015)

Quentin Tarantino is back with another Western film. No, it is not a sequel to his “Django Unchained” but knowing it is a Quentin Tarantino film, we can only expect bloody suspense and adventure in The Hateful Eight.

The movie is set six or eight or twelve years after the Civil War. A stagecoach travels through the wintry Wyoming landscape going to the town of Red Rock, bringing with it bounty hunter John Ruth and his fugitive Daisy Domergue. Along the road, they meet Major Marquis Warren, a black bounty hunter who is once a union soldier, and Chris Mannix who claims to be the town’s new Sheriff. After having lost in the blizzard, the four seek refuge in Minnie’s Haberdashery and meet four strangers: Bob, Oswaldo Mobray, Joe Gage and Confederate General Sanford Smithers. As the storm rages over the mountainside stopover, a different storm brews on our eight travelers. And they may not make it to Red Rock after all….

The eight lead roles in the film are played by Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Demian Bichir, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen and Bruce Dern. Channing Tatum also has a part in the movie. The Hateful Eight is set for a fall 2015 release by The Weinstein Company.

Finding Dory may not be as creative or unique as the first film. However, it has an equivalent amount of energy, fun, tears, and life lessons.
